Notice for State of NY-NJ Titled Vehicles

Please note there have been changes to how vehicles with titles from the State of NY & NJ are processed with C.B.P.

C.B.P. no longer has access to DMV for NY-NJ vehicles & titles, therefore special procedures are required to export these vehicles.

Please read thoroughly below information:

Recent statutory changes by New York State, Green Light Law, added a provision that restricts access to their Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

As a result, CBP no longer has the ability to obtain NY DMV records and this loss in access prevents CBP from validating export documentation in a timely manner.

Effective immediately, all exports of New York titled self-propelled vehicles, regardless of port of export, will be placed on export hold, and ports will no longer accept documentation submitted via Document Imaging System (DIS).
